Convenience
What is your number one value?
If you asked me that question awhile back, I would have said, “convenience.”
“Convenience? That’s not a value. Values are things like trust, loyalty, faith, “
If it’s not a value, how come I valued it so much?
I defended my value. “It’s efficient. It allows you to do more. Convenience is the bomb.”
…but it’s expensive.
Much like the products you would buy at a convenience store, there is a dramatic markup on many items of convenience. The hike on the price tag may be large or small but the real cost can be very difficult to determine.
Until you are Given Permission To See Things Differently.
When you see it that way, you see the run it can make on your emotional bank account. Fortunately for me, I had a pretty big balance in that ledger when I realized what was syphoning off. Convenience still has a value…just not an overriding one. I can afford a little bit of it.
How about you? What is convenient to you? What does it cost? Can you afford it?
